Voice Memo / Written Reflection

Instructions

Please record and send us a voice memo of you just talking through your answers to these prompts.

You can send your voice memos to either my email here [email protected] or to our Upwork chat as an mp3 file, google drive link, whatever format you’d like to use.

Please feel free to ramble, jump around, go off on tangents—that's all good for us. Our goal with this interview process is to really understand people’s raw, unfiltered thoughts and feelings about these topics.

We basically would love just a brain dump of how you feel about everything here and we would love you to be as honest and real with us as you can 🙏

Please feel free to skip anything that doesn't apply to you or that you don’t want to answer for any reason and you can instead tell us anything you think might be interesting for us to learn from your experiences or that you even would just love to talk about from your life and your experiences as a parent in the modern age.

We would love to even just learn from what we don’t even know that we don’t know about your life and the lives of any other parents you know too.

By the way, this is just part 1 of our study, we will have more parts sent over one by one over time - as we have more and more questions to ask about.

Estimated time: 10–30 minutes

Section 2: Your Child's Life Right Now (4 min)

  1. How would you describe your child right now—what are they like day-to-day?
  2. What's going well for them? What are you proud of or encouraged by?
  3. What challenges or concerns have been on your mind as a parent lately? (These don't have to be big—just whatever's been weighing on you.)
  4. How long have these concerns been present? Was there a moment you first noticed something felt off?
  5. Have teachers, coaches, or other adults in their life mentioned anything?

Section 3: Changes You've Noticed (3 min)

  1. Have you noticed any shifts in your child's mood, focus, motivation, or how they handle frustration?
  2. Has their interest in activities, hobbies, or spending time with friends changed?
  3. Is there anything they used to enjoy that they've lost interest in?

Section 4: What's Driving This (3 min)

  1. What do you think is behind the challenges or changes you've noticed? (Just your gut sense—there's no wrong answer.)
